Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp presents ROTOROTOR, a thrilling third album produced by John Parish (P.J Harvey, Eels, Giant Sand, Dominique A…) and recorded by Ali Chant at Toybox Studio in Bristol. ROTOROTOR (a nod to Duchamp's famous rotoreliefs and to the latter's taste for palindromes) is a manifesto for free and adventurous music, organised in versatile pop songs; playful and fervent, incandescent, funny and impetuous, assuming without ostentation a sort of fragmented futurist traditionalism, combining festivity and war, wedding dances and battle-cries.
Le troisième disque (Rotorotor) de l'Orchestre, produit par John Parish (P.J Harvey, Eels, Giant Sand, Dominique A…) est enregistré par Ali Chant au Toybox Studio à Bristol. Ce qu'on entend ici c'est un groupe au syncrétisme épuré, aux lignes nettes et anguleuses à l'intérieur des quelles un curseur affolé se déplace sans cesse d'une intensité à l'autre, l'imagination toujours en mouvement. Rotorotor est un manifeste de musique libre et aventureuse, organisée en popsongs versatiles, tour à tour ludiques et ferventes, incandescentes, drôles et emportées, assumant sans effet de manche une espèce de traditionalisme futuriste à fragmentation, de multiples identités chatoyantes, un art conjugué de la fête et de la guerre, danses nuptiales et chants de bataille jetés ensemble sur le plancher défoncé.
