Zea/Kanipchen Fit 7"
This 7" was especially released for the Balkan tour Zea and Kanipchen-Fit did in November / December 2009. Zea put on "Song for Electricity", a twenty first century eclectric version of the Ethiopian song "Bogiye" (Abonesh Adenew), and takes his cellphone synth to the next level in "Ich hab ein Riesenkopf". www.zea.dds.nl
Kanipchen-Fit comes with a debut release of two songs showing their unsentimental sound and ironic lyrics in less than five minutes. Based in NYC, they plan to enter Europe again in spring 2010 with a full length album. www.myspace.com/kanipchenfit.

Arnold de Boer, mit dem zweiten, limitierten Release auf seinem hauseigenen Label. Wenn er nicht mit THE EX auf der Bühne steht tourt er grade mit KANIPCHEN-FIT durch die Lande. ZEA ist auf diesem Release wieder nicht zu bremsen. Neben unzähligen Samples, elektronischen Effekten, Gitarre und Arnolds Gesang verwendet er für „Song for electricity“ als Grundgerüst den äthiopischen Song „Bogiye“ von Abonesh Andrew. „Ich hab ein Riesenkopf“ ist ebenfalls mit einer äthiopischen Weise unterlegt, wird aber von wirren, fast nervtötenden Handyklingeltönen geradezu abgewürgt. Das Amsterdamer Duo KANIPCHEN-FIT besteht aus Gloria Holwerda-Williams und Empee Williams. Beide reichern ihren zweistimmigen Gesang mit Percussions, Gitarre und elektronischen Effekten an. Sehr alternativ, sehr Indie, ein bisschen emotional und ergreifend. Sie erinnern mich an die TRAVELS und bilden einen vorzüglichen Kontrast zu ZEA. (Jenny Kracht)

De Kift 's/t' 7"
Die Veröffentlichungsflut nimmt kein Ende und auch in den Niederlanden werden alte Kamellen in Form einer ursprünglich 1988 erschienenen Single als Wiederveröffentlichung ausgekramt. De Kift stammen aus dem Umfeld von The Ex und sind bis heute umtriebig. Auf dieser 3 Song Single spielen sie krachigen, ruppigen NoWave mit in niederländischer Sprache keifendem Sänger. Dabei lassen Gang of Four Gitarren meinen Fuß mitwippen. Ganz schöner Krach - so hätten die famosen Le Shok in den 80ern geklungen! Schon eine gute und eigene Single, aber ob die wirklich so schwer zu finden ist, dass sie wiederaufgelegt werden musste? (Benni)
Kift 'Ijverzucht' LP
Late eighties the then 4 piece de Kift released a 3 song 7" (1988) & lp ijverzucht (1989).
Ferry: guitar & brass (Svatsox), Wim: drums (Rondos, the Ex), Jacco (GRRR): bass, Maarten: vocals (Pistache B.V.)
With audible dutch lyrics, Pushy melodic basslines, bouncy snarerolls and angular guitar they concocted a unique kind of pointed sparse punk with fanfare brass blasts. Maarten's poetic lyrics were rrrrecited, spat out and crooned. A heady mix of bleak reflective explorations on the dutch mental state of the times; post WWII mentality dissected and rejected and gleeful romantic pleas for revolt with ingrained disillusionment.
De Kift came of age in the dying hours of the squatter movement at the time. Playing benefits, raising funds, eyebrows and soundtracking a lifestyle on it's last legs. Alas the times were a changing. The movement discombobulated and was succeeded by a fragmented scene in turmoil. Ijverzucht came out amidst that monumental confusion, a landmark record. (de kift website)

De Kift 'Yverzucht' LP
De Kift aus den Niederlanden gibt es schon seit über zwanzig Jahren und ich habe noch nie von ihnen gehört, Muss wohl an mir liegen, denn die Band ist ziemlich gut. Mich persönlich stören einige der Bläsereinsätze etwas, aber ansonsten erinnern sie mich auf angenehme Weise an The Ex und 80er Jahre Artpunk, was daran liegen könnte, dass es sich hierbei um ein Re-Release von De Kifts Debütalbum von 1989 handelt... Viel Groove, viele Breaks, geil drahtiger Basssound und niederländische Texte, die ich nur so halb verstehe. Empfehlenswert für Menschen, denen atmingsaktive Kompositionen wichtiger sind als bratende Rockgitarren und ein wichtiges Stück Punkgeschichte ist es allemal. (Jan Tölva)

Rondos ‘Destroy the entertainment’ DoLP
De RONDOS were around from 1978 until 1980. Besides being an art-collective (dubio) who were sharing a building they used as a base to launch their commie rockets at CRASSholes, the police, nihilist punx and the corrupted consumer society at large... they made some fantastic records too. Grating repetetive stripped down angry compositions... songs is maybe not the right word. They introduced a new gestalt in the dutch music world; aestheticaly nothing to do with rock, playing on their own terms, writing their own zines... creating d.i.y. platforms to be inclusive and inspirational. Rehearsel spaces, gigs and stencilmachines. power to the people. This double lp collects their singles on the first side, a selection out of a live concert in 1978 on the second. The second lp contains their 'RED ATTACK' lp. The recordings are raw and to the point. no studio trickery, overdubs or hippy noodling here. The sound is maybe most related to english bands like Wire, Crisis, Crass (their friends turned foes) and Gang of four. They heavily inspired a new wave of dutch bands especially the Wormer & utreg 'scenes' The Ex, Zowiso, de Kift (rondos drummer!), the Nixe en vele anderen!

SHOPPING tour in may 2013
Shopping consists of three London based musicians; Billy Easter, Rachel Aggs and Andrew Milk, who from Nov 2012 all found themselves in the position of having free day times. They got together to form a band in the basement of Power Lunches arts cafe and venue, where Rachel and Andrew both work and regularly put on shows. There a star was born in the form of SHOPPING. They plan to release a 7" single in May to coincide with their first European/UK tour, and an album in the Autumn, both to be released on Milk Records.
